Dr Linda Nicholson

Clinical Psychologist

Linda Nicholson is a clinical psychologist and working in Deakin, ACT. Linda brings compassion, empathy, and warmth into her relationships with clients, with a sprinkling of humour. She cares about helping people focus on building their well-being and create meaning and purpose in their lives.

Her clinical work is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and this is integrated with behavioural and compassion focused approaches. She is also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and draws from other therapies such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Systems Theory. Linda has a PhD in Clinical Psychology, having completed her clinical training at the University of Wollongong. Linda’s area of experience centers around helping people experiencing anxiety and low mood (including anxiety disorders), stress and workplace stress, trauma and PTSD, difficulties with relationships (including in the workplace), health and pain related issues, difficulties with low self-worth, and struggles with life goals and personal meaning. She is particularly interested in supporting women struggling with health related concerns.
