Registered Psychologist
Emma (She/Her) is a Registered Psychologist with experience working with adults with a broad range of mental health concerns. She has particular interest in working with complex trauma, childhood trauma, domestic violence, and family violence.
Emma has a strong focus on identity and relationship concerns. She enjoys supporting clients to live in accordance with their own values. Emma adopts a flexible and client-centred approach to therapy. She works collaboratively with her clients to identify their unique psychological goals, and tailors intervention using various evidence-based therapies.
Emma works mainly from an attachment and trauma framework. When she is not working in private practice, she is running a group programs called the Circle of Security at a not-for-profit organisation. Circle of Security is a parenting course based on decades of attachment research. In private practice,
Emma applies her experience and understanding of attachment by working with adults who have experienced trauma during their childhood and adolescent years. Childhood trauma can result in relationship difficulties and self-worth concerns as an adult. Emma works with clients to process their upbringing, support clients to understand behavioural patterns that have been formed because of their upbringing, learn new ways of being with others, and build security within themselves.
