Yvonne is a clinical psychologist trained in Canberra and is a Board-approved supervisor .She works with clients across the lifespan, offering therapy for a range of issues, and has extensive experience in cognitive, educational, and behavioural assessments and diagnostic assessments for giftedness, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disorders, and ADHD.
Yvonne is particularly interested in working with adult clients with trauma and complex trauma, besides general adult mental health issues such as anxiety, depressive mood, emotional dysregulation, anger management, interpersonal issues, grief and loss.
Yvonne creates a warm, non-judgmental space and collaborates with clients to develop insights and skills for a meaningful life. Her primary therapeutic approach is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) informed by attachment theory and Internal Family System (IFS), she also incorporates others evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).Yvonne also provides therapy in Cantonese.
Yvonne works in her room Geils Court in Deakin on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and she offers Telehealth appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
